AmbGun Minuteman Review of the Henry Long Ranger in 5.56
Add a cheek riser, an optic in low rings, and a canvas GI Sling and the Henry Long ranger is capable of exceptional field accuracy.
My only perfect score on stage 4 of the Appleseed AQT is with the Long Ranger
At 500 yards, from prone, the rifle put 5 rounds into 5 inches. Luck, but the rifle helps push you closer to that lucky group.
The chassis is optimal for a 6.5cm or 308, a bit heavy and overbuilt for a 5.56.
Mags are expensive, especially on a $’s per round basis
The Henry Lever action is a perfectly mirrored ambidextrous manual action and much faster to operate than a bolt action.
20” barrel extracts maximum velocity out of the 5.56 cartridge and doesn’t have much more muzzle flash than a 16” barrel fitted with a flash hider.
Beautiful anodized aluminum receiver paired with the elegant walnut furniture is way more aesthetically pleasing than modern sporting rifles like the AR.
A terrific option for those in 2A violating states or those who want to maintain a low profile…the Henry Long Ranger.
